GMC Forty Niners Club

CHAPTER BYLAWS

2023

PURPOSE

The purpose of this organization is to further the mutual association of members for the enjoyment and interest of GMC motorhome owners, their families, and guests.

MEMBERSHIP

Any GMC motorhome owner may become a member of the GMC Forty Niners Club after attending two club rallies. Prospective members will be sent three consecutive newsletters. They will receive no further newsletters unless they become a member. Guest coaches (GMC or any other type) may be invited to attend our club rallies by any member in good standing. Former GMC Forty Niners member without a motorhome shall be allowed to attend rallies as a guest. Any guest’s attendance will be limited to two rallies per year and will be expected to pay all rally fees and charges.

A member who disposes of their GMC motorhome may retain membership for 12 months from the date of the disposition by paying normal membership dues. During this period, the member may reacquire a GMC motorhome and retain membership status or acquire a non-GMC motorhome and apply for Associate status. Associate members pay normal membership dues and shall enjoy all club privileges. Years of membership and past contributions to the Club shall be the criteria considered when seeking the approval of Associate status, which shall require a 2/3 affirmative vote of the membership at the Business Meeting immediately following receipt of the application by the Membership Chair. Former members may apply for a Friend membership at a reduced membership rate, which has no voting privileges and entitles them to newsletters and 1 roster annually.

ANNUAL DUES

Annual dues of $35.00 per coach are due and payable by October 31st of each calendar year. Dues are not refundable. Each year at the September rally the membership will set the dues for the following year. All new members will pay a $25.00 initiation fee, plus prorated dues of $3.00 per month for the balance of the calendar year in which they join. Nametags and a club flag are provided by the club. Membership dues for Friends will be $10.

Note: the flag must be surrendered in the event of membership termination.

RALLIES

Club rallies will be held on the second weekend, but not before the 8th of the month, in January, March, September, and November, and on the weekend after Mother’s Day in May. The date of the July Rally shall be at the discretion of the Rally Host for that month. On special occasions, when approved in advance by the majority of the membership in attendance at a business meeting, a rally may be deleted, held on a different weekend, or extended beyond the weekend duration. A business meeting will be held at each rally. Nametags shall be worn at all rally functions. The Club flag shall be displayed at each rally.

The Rally Host will determine the maximum number of coaches that may attend the rally, depending on the physical limitation of the rally venue, or activities connected to that rally. Attendance shall be determined on a first application basis.
